Music Video: Mount Kimbie - We Go Home Together
Early yesterday saw the first release from the south London duo since their 2013 album 'Cold Spring Fault Less Youth'. The new track, called "We Go Home Together" features vocals from James Blake. Mount Kimbie are set to tour the US this summer so if you are stateside we recommend you check out the dates here. The new release is paired with a music video, which has been directed by the extremely talented Frank Lebon.
Playboi Carti: Tats On My Neck
Despite some leaks earlier in the year, we finally have the official version of “Tats On My Neck”, the new track from Atlanta rapper Playboi Carti, produced by Brooklyn native Harry Fraud.

Late on Tuesday saw renowned skate brand HUF release a first look at their upcoming 'Pink Panther' collection for Summer/Spring 2017. The capsule collection is made up of a number of t-shirts, hoodies, socks and also jackets, along with a number of smaller accessories. Video: Stormzy performs with special guests on Radio 1xtra's Live Lounge
Yesterday saw the release of BBC Radio 1xtra's latest edition of their 'Live Lounge' series. The new release was with none other than English grime artist Stormzy. The special edition of 'Live Lounge' saw Stormzy bringing along a number of guests, namely, J Hus, MNEK, Ghetts and Wretch 32. Throughout the performance, Stormzy played a number of tracks from his debut album 'Gang Signs & Prayer' alongside his special guests.

Music Video: Cold Little Heart
With so much saturation in the market, a good music video is hard to come by these days. Not just a good concept, or a nicely shot piece, but a video that really moves you, that means something. However, every once in a while, if you’re lucky, you’ll find a video that stops you dead in your tracks. David Helman’s new video for ‘Cold Little Heart’, a track by stand out British soul singer Michael Kiwanuka, is one of those videos.
M+RC NOIR release new collection
Earlier this week, French brand M+RC NOIR teased the release of their brand new collection, which is set to release early April. We here at The Balti Club are really excited about this one. The summer collection comes in the form of hoodies, bags, shorts, windbreakers and vests.
Joshua T Gibbons: Cockney Stan
Joshua T Gibbons is an English photographer with a keen eye for documenting people. We stumbled upon Joshua's work a number of months ago and to say that we were impressed is an understatement. His work through the medium of documentary portraiture is truly unique and each series he creates (from the recent sex site, to y seid) is a massive source of inspiration for us here at The Balti Club. A few years ago, Joshua began a series which documents the life of Cockney Stan, a 71 year old retired bachelor from East London.
Clarks Wallabee, BAIT & Breaking Bad Collaboration
BAIT and Clarks recently collaborated to have us styling like Walter White, releasing a version of the classic Clarks Wallabees. This limited edition release comes in two colorways, which have been aptly named to pay homage to the breaking bad series. The two colorways being "Felina" and "Blue Sky". The Wallabees will retail at $180 a pair, with an extremely limited run being available.
Video: Amar Dhaka
Earlier this month, Bengali Filmmakers Farhan Hussain, Safat Chowdhory and Sajeed Sarwar released an incredibly unique video about their hometown Dhaka which is located in Bangladesh. The video was shot over a period of ten days and shows the variety of interesting people and places that are present within Dhaka. The filmmakers hoped to capture the essence of being in the streets of Dhaka with regards to the video.
Stream Drake's Latest Album 'More Life'
Last night OVO Sound Radio dropped an exclusive listen to Drake's More Life. Early this morning saw its general release on both Spotify and Apple Music. Drake's newest project has been highly anticipated, and it has met all of our expectations, we've had it on repeat since its release a few hours ago. The 22-track project has on it some of the biggest names in the music industry, with the likes of Skepta, Kanye West, Travis Scott and Young Thug to name but a few.
IN SILENCE Spring/Summer 2017 "Darkland" Collection
For their 2017 Spring/Summer collection, Korean streetwear brand IN SILENCE have created a full new range of exciting pieces, spanning from sweatpants, tees, shorts and crewnecks. The collection, entitled "Darkland", has taken inspiration from rock bands and the culture that surrounds them, whilst also providing a distinct streetwear style.
Northbound: Skateboarding on Frozen Sand
Two days ago, filmmaker Jørn Nyseth Ranum released Northbound in collaboration with Turbin Film. Northbound is a short but stunning documentary about a group of skateboarders who travel to the cold Norweigen Coast in search of a new surface to test their boards on.
Adidas Originals X Under Arrows & Sons
Along with the release of the extremely hyped NMD City Sock, Adidas Originals will be releasing a series of tracksuits in collaboration with United Arrows & Sons and calligrapher Mikitype. The collaboration will see the classic Originals tracksuit, branded with all three labels, and decked out in a black and red colour-way.

Earlier this week saw the release of a new video for Tobias Birk Nielsen, which showcases the first official collection from the former Boris Bidjan Saberi designer. With the release of his fall/winter 2017 range fast approaching, the video, aptly named "Violent Situations", provides an insight into the upcoming releases from this exciting new brand which are based in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Supreme X Lacoste Spring/Summer 2017 Collection
Yesterday morning saw a full photo release of Supreme's upcoming collection with Lacoste. The New York-based label has teamed up with Lacoste to create everything from Harrington Jackets and Tennis Sweaters to Track Pants and Camp Caps.

Billy Boyd Cape is a London born filmmaker and photographer. We came across his work on Instagram a few months ago and have been following him keenly since. His candid style of photography is both eye catching and alluring. His shots are a lesson in finding beauty in the simplest of moments.
Video: One Husbands Tribute to a Timeless Love
We recently came across a video which follows the story of Charles "LaLa" Evans and the love he has for his wife Louise. Sadly, just shy of their 60th anniversary, Louise passed away. Over the course of their marriage they took thousands of photographs together, capturing moments both big and small. With the passing of Louise, Charles was determined to honor her memory using those pictures.
Frank Ocean - Chanel
In the second episode of Frank Ocean’s Beats1 radio show blonded, Frank debuted a brand new song called ‘Chanel’. The track was played 18 times in the second half of the show, including a remixed version from A$AP Rocky. The song is a step back from the melodic tones of the emotionally charged blond which the enigmatic artist released last year.
Video: Continental Stories: Barry Jenkins
With "Moonlight" having picked up best picture and also best adapted screenplay at this years oscars, its clear that Barry Jenkins has created a true masterpiece. Late last month saw the release of a new instalment of Lincoln's 'Continental Stories' series. The video sees Jenkins returning to his old neighbourhood where he grew up, along with various locations within the film.
Cian Copeland: The streets of Dublin and beyond
Cian Copeland is a 20 year old photographer from Dublin with a distinct style for shooting street photography. We came across Cian's work a number of months ago and have been keeping a close eye on it ever since. Cian was kind enough to share some of his photography with us here at The Balti Club, whilst also speaking a little bit about himself and his work.
Stone Island Reflective Jacket for Spring/Summer 2017
Early last week, Stone Island released a short video showcasing its brand new reflective jacket for the 2017 Spring/Summer season. The new jacket is made from innovative fabric which has been purposely engineered to be garment-dyed.
Video: IF By Christopher Hewitt
IF follows the story of a group of young boxers from East London as they travelled to the slums of South Africa back in 2012. Directed by Christopher Hewitt and narrated by Rudyard Kipling, this short film is an ode to the young and brave.
Video: Daniel Arnold: Odds and Ends
Earlier in the week Pinery Films released a short documentary feature in which filmmakers Mika Altskan and Matvey Fiks follow photographer Daniel Arnold through the five-boroughs of New York as he attempts to capture the magic of the banal. The three minute video is fittingly shot on 16mm Kodak film and features some eye catching animation from Ilya L. Barrett.
Video: Sneaker Broker
Last week the guys over at Inkwell Films released a brand new film about the industry known as sneaker reselling. Directed by Benjamin Skipworth, the video follows sneaker broker Yuanrun Zheng ( also known as "Z" or "23Penny") speak on everything from misconceptions about resellers to selling a pair of 750s in person for a whopping $4000.
Video: William Strobeck: 'The Fat Kid"
Thursday saw the release of a new video from legendary skate videographer William Strobeck entitled The Fat Kid. The video is a compilation of clips that were originally meant to be released back in 2010, but unfortunately this video never came to light. The 13 minute video, almost exclusively in black and white, features some of the most well respected skaters in the industry, with appearances from Jason Dill, Gonz, Anthony Pappalardo and Dylan Reider.
Balti Recommends: MISSING By George Muncey
If you’re into film photography, then you’ve probably come across ‘Negative Feedback’ in the last few months. The popular Youtube channel, and more recently, publication, is the brain child of talented UK photographer George Muncey. George’s educational and insightful videos on analog photography in all formats is bringing a new wave of interest to the world of film. We picked up the first issue of Negative Feedback’s zine last month and were extremely impressed with the quality of work it included, along with the overall quality of the publication.
The Critical Slide Society: 'East Coast Crawl' Lookbook
Ever since the company was founded back in 2009, The Critical Slide Society (TCSS) have been creating original designs and meaningful content for surfing culture. As part of their Summer/Spring 2017 release, the guys over at TCSS put together a series of photographs broken up into a number of different series. We were particularly impressed with the 'East Coast Crawl' section of the loookbook which has 'sun-kissed' surf vibes written all over it.
Calvin Freeman: A lesson in lines
We first came across Calvin's work on Instagram a few months ago, and we've been fans ever since. Calvin has a keen eye for lines and angles, and he has an uncanny ability to make a simple photo of a building seem aesthetically pleasing. We got the chance to ask him a few short questions about his work.
Anasia: Balti's take on Asia
Anasia is the documentation of three weeks traveling during the Summer of 2016. It is also the culmination of a series of videos which have documented the travels of the Balti Club as we’ve grown up over the years, in an attempt to capture our ephemeral youth. A lot of people have been asking where the name of this video came from. Asia was a destination that was new to the Baltis, however like everyone else, we’d heard a lot of stories about South East Asia and what it was like.
At the beginning of last week we saw the release of a stunning short from the guys over at Finisterre, a cold water surf company. Shot by Luke Pilbeam, Common Ground is a short film that captures the stories and histories of a group of surf ambassadors for Finisterre. The film introduces us to each member individually, as they share the particulars of their upbringing, and what attracted them to the ocean from a young age.
'Away' : Capturing the streets of Paris
We recently got to spend some quality time in the French capital. The video is in conjunction with 'Away', a photoset documenting the people we encountered during our stay. From late night metro adventures, to some of the most beautiful paintings within the Musee D'Orsay, the video gives a quick glimpse into the people we came across whilst roaming through the streets of Paris.
AJ Tracey in photos: 'Lil Tracey Tour' comes to Dublin
Last weekend saw the beginning of AJ Tracey's tour of the United Kingdom and Ireland. Starting the tour in York on friday evening, AJ Tracey then made his way across the water to a sold out Dublin crowd, which was hosted in the intimate venue of Wahwahclub. With support from Sim Simma residents Shabba Franks and Ben Bix, the energy in the room was something truly special
Balti Reviews: Yesterday's Gone by Loyle Carner
Earlier this week saw the release of Benjamin Coyle-Larner's debut album Yesterday's Gone, featuring collaborations with artists such as Jesht, Kwes and his close friend Tom Misch. As expected, Loyle's distinct, soulful, jazz-inspired sound, which is so much removed from your run of the mill commercialised rap, bleeds through throughout the album.
'Sunday' The Gun FC
Last month saw the release of a beautifully shot documentary about Sunday football. Directed by Peter Franklyn Banks, the five and a half minute film tells the alluring story of The Gun FC and their love for the beautiful game. The Gun FC consists of a group of friends who share the same burning desire for football, with the teams name deriving from ‘The Gun’, a pub situated in North London.
Balti Meets: Hugh Mulhern
With a short film under his belt, a mini-documentary on the horizon, and an impressive portfolio of directorial credits for the music videos of artists such as AJ Tracey, Dah Jevu, and more recently Hare Squead, Hugh Mulhern is one of the most prominent and talented young filmmakers working in Ireland today. We recently had the absolute pleasure of chatting with the young Director about his career, projects, and aspirations for the future.
Documentary by Adrien Clothier: Train Surfers
Earlier this week Adrien Clothier released his short documentary, Train Surfers in coalition with AFI’s DOCS Series. The fourteen minute film documents the daily adventures of a young group of friends from Mumbai, who spend their days surfing on the side of trains.

Having worked with companies such as Airbnb, The National Lottery and SBG, Dublin native Niall O'Lochlainn has gained serious notoriety within the Irish art scene, whilst also creating a distinctive style for himself along the way. Balti Meets: Maria Falbo of Copson
The birth of COPSON began way back in 2009 when Maria Falbo created a street blog under the name 'Copson Street', while she was filming for a skate video in Barcelona. Since then COPSON has worked with brands such as Eastpak and Fila, continually producing high-quality garments.

If you thought this week started off badly, we've got something that will hopefully cheer you up. Today Jamie T released the official video for Tescoland, one of our favourite songs off of his fourth studio album 'Trick'. The four-minute video is directed by Tobias-Ross Southall

Connemara on a fresh Easter day. This is good times with great guys, laughs and smiles. Trudging through bog and jumping over marsh. Oysters and Guinness by a turf burning fire. Bottles of white wine at 6am. This is BBQ's and beers. Strobe lights on laptop screens, cigarettes in garage lofts.
